LAPD Bootcamp for kids: the 77th Street Area LAPD has a Juvenile Impact Program Boot Camp: This is a military style boot camp for kids. LAPD Police Offices assume the role of drill instructors and provide instruction in ceremonies and protocol, physical training, and military style drill. In addition, teachers from the Los Angeles Unified School District provide training to both children and their parents in anger management and life and communication skills. Call LAPD Officer J. The Parent Project offers classes at Rancho Los Amigos in the National Rehabilitation Center Conference Room at #1161 building SSA at 7601 E. Imperial Highway, Downey, CA 90241. This program is co-sponsored by the County of LA Parks and Recreation, Supervisor Gloria Molina, the LA County Sheriffs Department , the LA County Probation, Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center and the LA District Attorneys Office. The JJCPA and S.A.G.E. Parent Project Collaborative will invite you to learn new ways of taking control of your family. 10 weekly classes from 6:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m. For phone registration please call (323) 260-2360. Bullying Cases - Center for Civic Mediation - Affiliated with the LA County Bar Association, the Center for Civic Mediation helps handle mediation for bullying cases. Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge John P. Doyle is among the many dedicated volunteers who serve as board members to train student mediators. The Center for Civic Mediation is a nonprofit affiliated of the LA Bar Association which was originally called the Neighborhood Justice Center. The Center provides mediation and conflict resolution training, education, and coaching that prepares people with the skills to constructively address disputes in personal, community, and work settings. The Center for Civic Mediation partners and works collaboratively with local governments, schools, social service agencies, law enforcement, and courts as well as private and public organizations and businesses. SPIRITT Family Services are located in El Monte (626) 442-4788, Glendora (626) 335-8153, and La Puente (626) 968-0041. The program is partially funded by Los Angeles County Drug Programs Administration and the LA County Probation Department. The program is recognized by the LA District Attorney's Office Pomona JOIN program as well. The SPIRITT Family Services offers a 8 week Drug and Alcohol program for youth ages 12 -20 and offers counseling on Monday 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. for Group Counseling Process and on Wednesday 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. for Family Education Group at their Glendora Location located at 1505 S.
